TheatreWorks : A non-profit organization committed to providing and managing low-cost office, rehearsal, and performance space for emerging artists and performing arts groups who share the facility. Their mission is to provide an atmosphere of support where artists are free to produce non-commercial work and to succeed or fail without fear and without financial strain.

Creative Alternatives of New York : Creative Alternatives of New York provides comprehensive therapeutic theater workshops to populations with special needs. Their mission is to encourage the growth and health of the individual and the community through the use of creative expression.


Theatre by/for Mental Health Consumers
Act Up! For Mental Health : Act Up is Dudley's (UK) own award winning mental health theatre company looking at mental health issues from the user perspective. Sponsored by Dudley Health and social services the company is made up of ex and present mental health service users, their caregivers, and volunteers. Act Up is part of the Rethink (a national registered mental health charity) with an administrative base at the King Street Center, Dudley. The group meets each week at Woodside Day Center to create drama on mental health issues.
Interact Center for Visual and Performing Arts : Founded to provide artists with disabilities a place to pursue and develop their art to its highest potential, and to increase their integration into the broader professional arts community. The center is staffed by professional musicians, actors and visual artists, who provide advocacy, mentorship and collaboration. Their mission is to create art and to challenge society's view of disability.
Heart 'n Soul : A dynamic arts organization offering creative opportunities to people with learning disabilities. The organization has pioneered an original and innovative way of working, using contemporary music, theatre and club culture as reference points. A program of inter-related activities including touring performances, clubs, training, residencies and an extensive program of workshops, provides a ladder of opportunity for people with learning disabilities to realise their talents and personal potential.

Theatre for Social Change
Pedagogy & Theatre of the Oppressed : A global forum based on the ideologies and actions of Paulo Freire and Augusto Boal. PTO is a not-for-profit organization with the following mission: To challenge oppressive systems by promoting critical thinking and social justice. They organize an annual meeting that focuses on the work of liberatory educators, activists, and artists; and community organizers.
